All clamps are off and the plank is roughly cut to shape:



At the moment, the left side is being glued on. No pic of that, if you need one, just take the one from 5 posts above and mirror it in your favourite pic-editing-software.

Just removed all the clamps and the taping and to my relieve the bow turned out better than I ever dared to hope for:


From this angle of view it's a little deceiving but the edges of both the non-trip-chines and the sidewalls line up almost perfectly along the centerline.

What can also be seen in this pic is the vast amount of dust accumulating in the nick. As this dust is coming out of the thick air in my cellar it's no wonder painting the Yellow Jacket is such a PITA.

And now it's time for another challenge, fitting in the bottom.

Fitting in the bottom plank is just another PITA (hah, some more lingo just to Jo's taste ... )

After some tedious templating and cutting and sanding and cutting again and sanding again, I need a break. The rough shape is there, but it still needs to be trimmed, so that there will be no gaps.

Gut schaut es aus , ich persönlich hätte jetzt mächtigen Respekt diese beiden Kunstwerke zu verkleben

Den Respekt hatte ich schon bei der zweiten Non-Trip-Chine und bei der zweiten Seitenplanke. Die mussten ja beide vorne schön spitz zusammenpassen. Hat aber zweimal gut funktioniert!

Heute wird aber gar nichts mehr geklebt, da ist vorher noch einiges an Feinschliff nötig, damit das dann auch wirklich lückenlos passt.

Mann! Ich hab mich tierisch erschrocken, als ich das Foto oben gesehen habe! Echt jetzt.

Ich dachte, dir wäre über Nacht der Kleber an der Lauffläche weggeknallt und jetzt würde der Bug offen klaffen. Sieht auf jeden Fall gefährlich aus.

Aber Lauffläche in einem Stück... Respekt!
