Sauber!

"Sauber" ist vor allen Dingen, wenn man nach der Fertigstellung zu der überraschenden Erkenntnis kommt, dass das neue Teil größer und klobiger geworden ist und irgendwie nicht in das Boot will.



Ich habe eine geschlagene Stunde damit verbracht, Ecken und Kanten zu schleifen und das Teil so oft zu drehen, bis es endlich drin war. Mit dem Ergebnis, dass sie Befestigungsschrauben immer noch total bescheiden zu erreichen sind.



Wenn es aber der Trimmung des Bootes zuträglich ist, dann hat es sich gelohnt.

@Kay_01Thanks for your full report on building your Cyklon VI. I didn't know about it until yesterday, when I received an e-mail from @Hasse69 with links to this report and to a video on Youtube. Great job Kay_01! I'm impressed! My dad wasn't entirely satisfied with Cyklon V as a raceboat (It was more of a family boat), but continued the experimentation, and Cyklon VI (also known as "The RacerFive") was born. I note that you decided to change the colour of the boat cover from blue to red ... just as I have on my own Cyklon V. Here is a video of my Cyklon V when we tested the motor after a full service:
At the time it made 40.2 knots!

I am suitably impressed, that YOU have read my building-report of (your father) Cyklon VI. That's nearly the same as Luis Amstrong comments my first step in the sand box. Realy great and big pleasure for me.

When I saw the plans of the Cyclon VI and one picture (b/w) the first time, it was cristal clear for me - that will be my next project. The combination of colours is my personal favorite.

Which engine is on the fist picure - the old one?

I really enjoyed reading your report @Kay_01, and I have downloaded all your photos to be able to loook through them more thoroughly in the future! I am reconstructing my website on my dad's boats for two reasons ... 1) It's about time 2)He would have been 100 years on March 1st. The older engine is a Swedish one called TRIM. My dad bought it during WW2 and competed successfully with it until about 1960.
Here he is in a Cyklon II in 1951:

The Bolinder's Factory in Stockholm produced seven different models of Trim between 1933 and 1940. My dad had a Trim CP 18 hp from 1939. He modified it several times and my guess is that it gave just under 30 hp in the end.
