I have used ammonia and ply many times for difficult shapes, it makes the wood soft and bendable but a planking, may be only in the bow area could make the shape even more accurate, i made my PT 109 in this way; the rest of the hull can be ply...after all the bottom is painted and the difference will not be seen

I worked spoken with Poncelet that makes the same with the deck of his boat. (no ammonia) but bend the deck in both directions!

this is not the first boat I build

there is no problem .... I have the solutions to all ... So I do not waste time to think about what to do ..
And I work every day a little bit. (one hour) so it is going well ....

and that kind of boat is not very dificult ... I put more time to draw the plan to build the model!
