Hi all, I have just got my new outboard from Hobbyking. I ordered it from Hobbyking,co.uk and it was priced in pounds, but it came from Singapore! My wife isn't used to HK's website and she does all the money(Paypal) stuff.
Anyway, it is very very nice. It comes with an Allen key for small hex screws and a generous syringe full of lubrication grease which you squirt in a small neoprene tube above the "exhaust"area.
I haven't taken the cover off yet, but there are three wires with gold contacts coming out of the cover, even though I ordered the machine without motor, to save costs till I finish the boat. So I'm not sure where the watercooling pipes go or how to connect a motor yet.
It also has a nice dog drive for the propellor, which you have to supply. (Here I come, Prestwich Model Boats).

But generally, I am very happy with this "toy".

The covers for the machine are moulded in the thinnest possible GRP (GfK?).

But, oddly there is no real anti-cavitation plate, so I will be making one and I can't find where the water pick-up is, although there is an outlet from the motor to overside. I will incorporate a water pick-up in the anti-cavitation plate.

The motor wires end in 3 gold female connectors.

The lubrication pipe, which was ver discoloured was also split at the leg end and so would have allowed grease to fill the cover and not get into the flexi shaft at all, but they do give you a spare length of pipe.

I should explain that sometimes I forget to sign as Stoo and use my name Martin. Stoo was able to sign in, so I use his sign in details. I couldn't sign in at all.
I am helping Stoo build his 152Vo boat and may build one myself, so I have made two sets of Soitfire components, one for him, one for me.

EDIT: Martin, I just checked your account ("Kneeler") and everything seems to be fine. You should have recieved a confirmation email (on 13t October last year) which contains a confirmaton link ... maybe it went to the spam folder?
