I've been asked to tell the story by our new member Twister ll.
He has provided photos and text that he want me to publish i hope that is alrite.
We have some crazy guys amongst us. :verbeug:
Some are more normal then others.hint hint :super:
And then there are those that follow their dream, no matter what. :1st:

In his own word:
The first pic of the red Mark 55H, was the most famous motor in chile during the 50s and early 60s.
It had some copy of the Quincymegaphone exhaust, but made probably in Argentina!
I bought the motor in boxes completly apart. Runs great now.

Next pic of various motors: I have beeb interested in the inline 6 cylinder saga of mercury racing since the Mark 75H (The tower of power!), so I collected each of the relevant racing 6s.
The 1000 BP racing motor with shifting racing lower unit,
The first Twister (called the red twister) with the odd exhaust system called the silo.

Then in the tunnel boat you can see the Twister ll, this motor had a special intake with 6 carburettors instead of 3 like the previous model.
And of course..the Mark 75 with the quincy mid section and Speed Master lower unit, mounted in the Ben Hur Hydroplane,
All motors are running.

This is just the start.......
Tell me if you enjoy it, so we can meet up with mr Kobler at Irenensee......

TwisterII:
The 1973 official mercury racing team Molinary boat was a very difficult and long restoration.
The boat had a few accidents while in chile. Remenber these early tunnels had a tendency to fly!!

TwisterII:
In the first pic you can see another Mark 55H, model 1960 (The white Mercs), in the far right with the Hydro super short mid section. An allmost new engine. Very little use.
You can see the 1973 Ex Merc racing team Tunnel with the Twister ll engine.
That engine was a very difficult restoration, it was all apart, crankshaft was missing, and no manuals or people who new about the engine at all!

Second pic is the exposition at the museum from a different angle. You can see two more hydroplane hulls. One with an incomplete older Green Mark 55 and a quicksilver lower unit.

Thanks a lot, Hasse! Good god - what a collection! :glotz:
Did I get it right that this is the private collection of our member Twister II?

do you guys want to see some more??????
Are you kidding us? OF COURSE! :woohoo:

That engine was a very difficult restoration, it was all apart, crankshaft was missing, and no manuals or people who new about the engine at all!
