Die 5. Internationale 152VO Racing Competition 2016

Gentlemen, welcome to the 5th International 152VO Racing Competition!

The 5th International 152VO Racing Competition 2016

Dear Friends, 152VO Pilots and Vintage Racing Nerds,

the anticipation increases: just one week remaining until the classic outboarders of the 1950s are roaring on the quartermile course again! With more than 60 registered boats from 6 countries the 5th 152VO competition seems to become greater than ever before.

Already on Monday 18 July the first drivers will meet for trainings. The qualifyings start from Thursday morning.

The most thrilling part of the competition are again the two main race days: on Friday 22 July the Closed Course Races will take place (15 laps with flying start, 2 heats in each of 4 divisions). On Saturday 23 July the legendary Marathon Race will follow: 96 laps must be successfully completed - a total distance of amazing 16,95 kilometers!

You find the detailed timeline of the competition here: Schedule 5th Competition (PDF download / english version). And here is your route planner.

Spectators, rookies and groupies are very welcome!

Be prepared!

The check list for all 152VO racing pilots:

1.) Have you already registered? (If not: please note that your registration is urgently required until Friday 15 July 20:00h at the latest!

2.) Do you have the Registration Certificate of your boat at hand? Are your racing numbers attached to your boat?

3.) Do you have a copy of your liability assurance certificate with you? Note: the assurance must explicitly include "radio controlled racing boats"!

4.) Did you download and print the Driver Sheet & Measurement Report? Note: please print one Driver Sheet for each driver and one Measurement Report for each of your boats!

5.) Do you know the racing rules? :-)

... and three important remarks:

1.) To preserve our tight schedule it is necessary that all qualifyings have been finished until Thursday evening. For this reason belated qualifyings on Friday are not possible.

2.) Please pay attention that car driving is strictly prohibited at noon from 13:00 to 15:00h and in the evening from 20:00h on the whole camping site!

3.) Please bring all your boats to the Pit Lane (landing stages) on Friday and Saturday noon from 13:00 to 15:00h. We need them for the votings. If your boats are not positioned at the pit lane during that time, they can not get any points!

And another special gimmick for true 152VO freaks: the banner of the 5th competition (see first picture to the top left) will be auctioned on Saturday evening! Brilliant printed on high-strength PVC canvas, and a huge size of 1,50 x 1,00 meters. Only one exemplar exists... it's really unique! :-)

Well, so far: charge your batteries, polish your running surfaces, let your motors bellow. We're very looking forward to see you soon!!!

Gentlemen, welcome to the 5th International 152VO Racing Competition!
